In 1966, deep in the coastal bayous of Louisiana, a white woman takes over a ruined restaurant in the isolated town of Alligator and forms an unlikely partnership with an elderly Black woman. Their ambition quickly draws the wrath of the local Klan-affiliated Sheriff, who vows to tear their business down.
